How to put a website on an iPhone mockup (from a URL)
To put a website on an iPhone mockup on a Mac, press ⌥⇧U (Mockup from URL) in Zinxo, or open Background mode and choose Device, then paste the URL. Zinxo loads the site live inside the device at that device’s real viewport and user agent, so you see its actual mobile layout; scroll and click to the part you want, then click Use this view to freeze it at 3× in a real 3D device.
Step by step in Zinxo
- Copy the page’s address in Safari, then press ⌥⇧U (Mockup from URL, also in the menu bar and History). The address is already filled in; press Return.
- Pick iPhone or iPad and the model and colour you want (it opens on the device you used last).
- No address copied? Type or paste it in the address bar above the device.
- Scroll, tap links or open the menu inside the device until it shows what you want.
- Click Use this view (or Full page for the whole page), pick an angle and a wallpaper, then ⇧⌘C to copy or ⌘S to save.
Why a URL beats a desktop screenshot
A desktop screenshot squeezed into a phone is the desktop layout, tiny. Loading the URL at the phone’s viewport makes the site serve its real mobile layout, the one your customers see, and the frame is captured sharp at the device’s pixel density.
Switch the device and the page reloads at the new size, so one URL gives you an iPhone, an iPad and a MacBook shot in a minute.
Limits
Zinxo has its own browser session, so pages you’re logged in to in Safari aren’t logged in here. Accept a cookie banner once and it’s remembered. Zinxo only loads the address you type.
Without an app
Safari’s Responsive Design Mode (Develop menu) shows a page at phone size, and web mockup generators can wrap a screenshot in a device. It works, but it’s several tools and a flat, front-on phone.
